** Update to The Greendream:
It is with a heavy heart that I am discontinuing all bookings for my property effective August 1, 2021.
I have LOVED renting my home to families both with and without dogs, but I especially enjoyed sharing my home with “dog families” because they sent me pictures of their doggies enjoying Pluto’s back yard! I haven’t had time yet to update my Dog Gallery, but I will.
I’m going to find a family with fur-babies and kids who will truly appreciate The Greendream Oasis and my fabulous neighborhood. I will be listing my home for sale in August, and look forward to passing on my home to a dog- loving, nature- loving family. 🐕🌷❣👍
On to the next chapter. Enjoy the site. Cheers, Catherine
The Greendream Rental Home will always be my natural oasis from the stresses of every day life. It is my green retreat, and I fell in love with the back yard ( for my dogs) when I first saw the property. I had 2 dogs ( strays that I rescued, Maggie and Pluto) plus a Senior Foster dog, Sweetpea. The one-level step less home suited me ( I use a wheelchair), but the huge, landscaped back yard SOLD ME! It was perfect for my dogs, and they are my heart.
I Love My Dog-Friendly Home
I have always had a dog ( or 3!) , so it’s very important that I have a space for them, too. I was thrilled to have level access to the deck from the Family room, and furnished it with a table, chairs for friends and a huge umbrella because the summer afternoons are extremely hot. I wanted everyone to experience a connection with nature by relaxing on the deck and enjoy listening to the song birds. In the Spring I would ( and still do) feed migrating hummingbirds and plant flowers that are bee and butterfly-friendly. I love nature, so I was instantly drawn to the tree-lined neighborhood, and all of the trees, hydrangeas, azaleas and variety of flowers that were on the property. I spent hours in the yard planting, pruning and clipping. Gardening in a wheelchair is both difficult and rewarding at the same time. The yard is my pride and joy, and I am confident that I have the loveliest dog-friendly property in Smyrna!
A Few Additions
After I furnished my deck, I had a custom-made ramp to the front door constructed with a level platform at the top which made it easy to set down groceries. When I started sharing my home with guests, for extra safety I added a keyless entry system with a deadbolt that generates a unique access code for each guest. I also installed a Security camera at the Front door to monitor any suspicious activity.
There’s More To Love
When you buy a home, you inherit the neighbors. Fortunately my home The Greendream is located in a family and dog-friendly neighborhood. You’ll often see my next door neighbor, Dan, taking his dogs for a walk around the neighborhood or to The Silver Comet Trail which is minutes away and perfect for jogging or a leisurely stroll. I met Dan the day that I was having my furniture unloaded from the Moving van, and after he introduced himself he pitched in to help!
You can use our bicycles to travel the trail, and can rent additional bicycles in Mableton, just 5 minutes away. I’ve always had dogs, and many of my neighbors have dogs, so we all bonded as soon as I moved in to The Greendream. Walk your dogs, and enjoy the dog-friendly atmosphere.
Because the neighborhood streets are wide, and it’s shaped like a horseshoe, there’s no cross-traffic to worry about. After a day of fun with friends we would often cook a feast in the fully-equipped kitchen and bring food and drinks out to the deck. I have an electrical outlet next to the deck, and I installed a water faucet for my dogs so they would stay cool in the hot summer.
I’ve enjoyed meeting people and their furry friends, so I welcome all travelers, and I have experience hosting guests with special needs. I provide everything for my guests to enjoy from luxury, eco-friendly toiletries, towels, bath robes and room fans to a transport wheelchair and raised toilet seat for those in need of some extra assistance and comfort.

I LOVE NATURE
During my College years I researched and wrote a paper on The Clean Water Act. I won’t bore you with the details, but since then the future health of our planet became a top priority in my life. When I bought my home, I decided to name it “The Greendream” to symbolize my love of nature and commitment to the environment. I have worked toward creating an eco-friendly home and rental for my guests to enjoy. You can read more about my journey HERE.
I look forward to hosting you on your next trip to Atlanta. Let me know how I can make your stay more enjoyable.
